Vintage Entryway Makeover

June 15, 2019

This entryway refresh was kind of a spur of the moment. I mean I had it on my list of things I wanted to do but it wasn’t until our trip to The Found Cottage when I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I saw this insect print and was immediately inspired. I love dragonflies and collect them so I had to have this vintage print and when I saw it the whole space came together.

I started with the floors. (tutorial coming soon) These are DIY Painted floors. It was a labor of love and very time consuming but it was so worth it. I love the contrast of the floor and the wood. It feels modern but also farmhouse at the same time! I also re-stained the door black, to keep with the style of the floor and bring a fresh look.  I couldn’t be happier with the outcome!

I wanted a thin simple entryway table that would fit in the space without being to much. The floors are so bold I wanted the table to be simple in contrast to them. Brandon designed a beautiful table and built it with reclaimed pine to add to the rustic style we love! I found the rug on sale at menards for only $6.00 and it fits the space perfectly! I finished the space off with a layered effect. Hanging the vintage print on top of and old window added dimension to the space without being to powerful or busy. I styled the table with a over sized plant in a mental olive bucket for texture and of course a few old book for good measure.

I am so happy with how this space turned out! It came together so well and I adore coming home to it each day!

I love this cozy space from the floors to your green door. I also love this vintage bug print. It looks great in the space.
